Dover Corporation Announces Resignation Of Chief Financial Officer

NEW YORK, Sep 23, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Dover Corporation (NYSE: DOV) today announced that David S. Smith has decided to leave his position as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer to pursue other professional opportunities outside the company. Dover's Board of Directors has initiated the process of retaining a search firm to identify qualified candidates to fill the position.

Thomas L. Reece, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dover, said, "We appreciate the contributions David made to Dover during his tenure here.
